The huge and ancient saguaro cacti are plentiful and gorgeous. Bring a friend to stand watch? The drive to get here is lovely, especially March-May when it might actually be green. Most don't, but I thought it was worth mentioning for those out there who are super shy. The doors to the bathroom stalls are only about chest high, which allows for people to look in at you should they desire. My advice is to get the ice cream FIRST!! Then you can split a burger! See how I figured that out? One thing worth mentioning: the bathrooms in the saloon are a bit unorthodox. There's even a homemade ice cream parlor but we didn't have a lot of room left after the saloon. A general store has a ton of souvenir-type stuff available. After the meal we walked down the wooden sidewalks and explored the other stores nearby. A frosty Sarsparilla rounded out our old west meal. The food here is decent diner fare, we had the hand ground hamburgers (medium rare) and they were fantastic. This place gets pretty packed at times so be prepared for a crowd or maybe even a wait of 10 minutes to up to 30. If you have a larger party, many tables are available for use.

At the bar you can sit on SADDLES instead of barstools.

This place has all the trimmings of a town from the 1800's, wooden sidewalks, a general store and mercantile, and a local Saloon. In fact, if you look closely, there's a man (ok, it's just a dummy dressed like a cowboy!) hanging from one of the store fronts. From the time you drive up to this one-street town out in the middle of Apache Junction, you will think you've gone back in time.
